High pressure washer
An effective way to wash your car is to use a pressure washer. With the pressure washer, you get a shiny clean end result, and in addition, it is more time-efficient than washing the car by hand.
When you are going to buy a pressure washer, you need to take a few factors into account:
- Consider whether you need a pressure washer that is smaller and easier to work with, or a model with a higher pressure, which is often a little larger.
- What amount of pressure do you need your pressure washer to have? A higher pressure may be desirable for more static cleaning of vehicles and the like.
- Measure the distance between the nozzle, the power socket and the place you are going to wash your car. This determines the length of lead you require the pressure washer to have.
- Does it need to have a detergent tank? If you wash with shampoo or other car care products, it may be a good idea to buy a pressure washer with a detergent tank.
Using the pressure washer
Always start by rinsing from the bottom up. This allows the dissolved dirt to flow down off the bodywork more easily, while at the same time letting your car care products, such as degrease, to work to their full effect.
When washing your car with a pressure washer, work methodically, keeping the nozzle at least 30 cm from the bodywork, and at an angle of about 45 degrees so that the dirt is flushed away.
Finish the car wash by rinsing the car from top to bottom.
Use caution!
You should be careful around any damage to the paintwork. Excessive washing can aggravate any paint damage, so make sure that the jet is not too strong when spraying near any such areas.
Keep in mind...
Before washing your car, we advise you to check which local rules and guidelines must be followed when washing your car at home.
The dirt washed off your car often contains oil and fuel residues, which, for the sake of the environment, should not end up in groundwater. Most car wash facilities are equipped with oil separators and water treatment systems, which prevent harm to the environment.
Polishing machines
Polishing the car by hand can be both energy and time consuming, therefore a polishing machine is a good investment. Apply an even layer of wax to a soft polishing pad, and place the polishing pad against the surface of the bodywork that you want to polish. You only then need to start the polishing machine and work methodically.
Should I get an oscillating or rotating polishing machine?
An oscillating model polishes safely, quietly and with less vibration. The rotating model is more suitable if you want to quickly polish out deeper scratches in the paintwork.
You can use a polishing machine on your car, boat or caravan. Depending on the type of bodywork you are going to polish, it can be a good idea to consider a few things before choosing a polishing machine.
- Should your polisher have one head or several?
- How big do you need the polishing pad to be?
- How many revolutions per minute should the polishing pad rotate and should it have several speeds?

Polishing sponges
Your car paintwork has a unique hardness, which means that, before you start polishing your car, you need to find out what combination of polishing sponge and polish you can use on your specific model. In our range you will find super soft polishing sponges, soft polishing sponges, medium polishing sponges and hard polishing sponges.
How do I find the right polishing sponge?
- Start by studying the paintwork of the car, whether it has any scratches and how glossy it is. The scratches and desired end result in terms of shine determines the hardness of the polishing sponge and polish.
- Always start with the most gentle and soft polishing sponge, and go from there.
- Pick out a small test surface on the car and start polishing it. Then evaluate the test area before working further on the rest of the car.
- If you have not achieved the desired result and scratches remain, you need to try using a harder model of polishing sponge.
