Make your own Advent Calendar

Make your own Advent Calendar

An Advent Calendar, also called a Christmas Gift Calendar, is both fun to create and a nice decorative element to complement your Christmas decorations. Advent Calendars are appreciated not only by children but also adults - who doesn’t want to open a new gift package every day for 24 days?

But how do you make your own Advent Calendar? In our version, Biltema's reinforcement netting works as a hanger, then it becomes easier to place the packages with the help of clothespins.
Follow the steps below to get started, then only your imagination sets the limits for what you can fill the different packages with.

This is how to do it

1. Roll out the protective paper on a flat surface and lay the reinforcement netting on top. Wear protective gloves before you start spraying, so you do not get spray paint on your hand.
Spray the grille with your choice of Hobby paint. Remember to spray outdoors or in a well-ventilated room.

2. Cut out wrapping paper in suitable sizes for your packages and then put then into sandwich bags, then you can decorate them with date stickers and Christmas tree twigs, for example.

3. Here you can download a PDF with date stickers. The file contains a template of 24 date stickers that you can easily print and attach to your packages. The template is adapted to Biltema’s address stickers.
If you want to decorate the date stickers, you can for example use a  gold pen and a dressmaking scissors to get a fun edge around the stickers.
